Catching-Up

Hey! I haven't been blogging in a while, but my dad is outside doing yardwork so I think I'm safe. A lot has been going on lately, now that its summer. Summer is going to be sooo boring. My mom works, & my dad is going to be the only one home. That means I can't really go anywhere without giving & getting a lecture. Crappola.

We had 2 soccer games last week: one against Alden & one against Clarence. Alden is the first place team & we tied them 2-2. We had to go to Clarence on Thursday for a make-up game. We only had 12 players. That means 1 sub. We lost 2-0. But that's okay. Clarence is in 2nd place & they average about 4 goals a game. If we can hold them off with only 12 people, think of what we can do with a full squad!
We also had a tourny last weekend. We went to West Seneca for the Odenbach Cup. We won the first game on Penelty Kicks, but we lost the 2nd game. I forget who we played 1st, but we played East Aurora second, & it was brutal. They were so physical. There's a fine line between physical & cheap. They crossed that line more than once. & the Ref didn't do anything about it until one of our players got hurt. The smallest person on our team got spiked. So we lost that game. We were out of the tourny. O well.

My great-grandmother isn't doing too well. She went to the hospital & she has kidney stones & a urinary tract infection. She got treated & she's home now, but not for long. She's 93 & she's lived her life already. She's not eating, &, at this point, I'm not sure she can eat. They could put a feeding tube into her, but what's the use? She won't get any better. I don't really know her; she lived in Alabama until a couple years ago when we brought her up. 2 days ago we went over grandma's house to see Nanny. I sat by her bedside & talked to her for at least an hour and a half. She didn't talk back, but I knew she understood what I was trying to do.
Lately my thoughts have been straying to "Number 6" & her funeral. I think I'm going to buy some black netting & somehow attatch it to my fedora. I'll wear that to the funeral. & my black turtleneck. & a skirt. I pulled out my beads & made a black choker. I'll wear that too. I don't think my mom will let me wear my paperclips to the funeral.
